The installation of the ceiling planks proceeded nicely this week. If you notice the pile over by the organ, it has gone down dramatically. Even though the plank installation will be finished soon there is plenty of work, and inspections, to be done. Given the shortened hours of the workers due to the weekday morning masses again be held in the church, the completion date may be pushed out to the end of September.
This is not wholly due to the ceiling. Once the ceiling is complete we are still considering to have the altar floor refurbished. From what I understand that effort will take a week of work, and then another week for the new coating to cure sufficently to walk upon.
After that is done, or during the curing week, we need to have the carpet and the pews cleaned. Also, all the statuary needs to be refurbished, but no clear idea of how this is going to occur has been put forward.
So please be patient and we will be rewarded.
P.S.
Joe doesn't want any more photographs of the ceiling published so as to not reduce the "wow" factor at the unveiling. I have taken some just to have for the files.
